Ram Swaroop, a laborer from Rajat Khet Dharkot Dharmandal in Tehri Garhwal, came to Rishikesh looking for work to support himself. While working at a film shoot in Gita Bhawan, a heavy wooden beam fell on his arm, causing severe injuries. Sadly, after the accident, the contractor who hired him disappeared, leaving Ram Swaroop with no support or contact details.
Despite his painful injuries, Ram Swaroop, who earned just ₹550 a day, couldn’t afford proper medical care. He ended up living on the streets, struggling in the cold. During a blanket distribution drive, a kind officer found him and took him to the hospital for treatment. However, after 15 days, he was discharged, even though his arm was still in bad condition. With no family to care for him, he returned to living at the Rishikesh ISBT bus stand.
During our annual blanket distribution drive, the Samoon Foundation met Ram Swaroop and learned about his situation. His arm remains in critical condition, with severe wounds and continuous discharge. Without immediate medical attention, his condition could worsen.
We at the Samoon Foundation are dedicated to helping Ram Swaroop get the treatment he needs to recover. But we can’t do it alone. We need your help to cover his medical expenses and support him through this tough time.
