Keeping up with our tradition at Samoon, this year, a two-day tree plantation event was organized between 30/07/2017 and 31/07/2017. Tree plantation was done under two drives-

In the villages Soud and Sakani, 600 saplings were planted at different areas on 30/07/2017 and,

In Omakaranand Saraswati University Devprayag, Government Intermediate College Munnakhal, Intermediate College Soud and Intermediate College Sakani, the remaining 400 tree saplings were planted.

The 1000 tree saplings that were planted were of different varieties such as mango, pomegranate, guava, Indian blueberry, Indian gooseberry, bay leaf, mulberry, bamboo and other plant varieties.

Along with the plantation drive, the students and the villagers from the local communities were given a lecture and workshop on preserving nature and plant life and protecting the Earth. Awareness was spread regarding these topics.

A trophy and a certificate of appreciation were presented to all the local communities and colleges who participated in the event with our team members. In addition to these activities, Team Samoon will ensure the plant saplings are in good condition and a general inspection of the sapling will be done after one year and the groups who manage to take good care of the plants will be awarded.
