Keeping up with our tradition at Samoon, this year, a
two-day tree plantation event was organized between 30/07/2017 and 31/07/2017.
Tree plantation was done under two drives-
➢
In the
villages Soud and Sakani, 600 saplings
were planted at different areas on 30/07/2017 and,
➢
In
Omakaranand Saraswati University Devprayag, Government Intermediate College
Munnakhal, Intermediate College Soud and Intermediate College Sakani, the
remaining 400 tree saplings were
planted.
The 1000 tree saplings that were planted were of different
varieties such as mango, pomegranate,
guava, Indian blueberry, Indian gooseberry, bay leaf, mulberry, bamboo and
other plant varieties.
Along with the plantation drive, the students and the
villagers from the local communities were given a lecture and workshop on
preserving nature and plant life and protecting the Earth. Awareness was spread
regarding these topics.
A trophy and a certificate of appreciation were presented
to all the local communities and colleges who participated in the event with
our team members. In addition to these activities, Team Samoon will ensure the
plant saplings are in good condition and a general inspection of the sapling
will be done after one year and the groups who manage to take good care of the
plants will be awarded.

Vidyarthi Paliwal.
Along with them, the efforts put up by the local people,
the committee members of the colleges, the students and all other members of
the team Samoon have been commendable and appreciable. We are grateful and
thank them with all our heart!
